Ecológica Carmelo is honored to collaborate with the Puerto Rican firm Fuster + Architects and their sister company CASA-i on their “Ah! MINI” modules. Casa-i offers sustainable, modular, prefabricated, concrete homes and buildings. These pre-designed homes and customizable modules can then be grouped together to meet the client’s needs. Casa-i and Carmelo’s shared focus on sustainability led to a natural collaboration to bring these high-quality, resilient, and beautiful structures to life.

CASA-i incorporated Carmelo’s GCT panels into their homes because of their high R-value, resilience to high-wind and seismic events, and lightweight construction. The structural panels also provide PSM thermal insulation for the walls and the ceiling.

For this collaboration, Ecológica Carmelo supplied the following products for the construction of the homes:

• Structural Mortars 4000 PSI: used on the walls and the underside of the ceiling with a Type-N finish that is resistant to sulfate and carbonate attacks. These mortars meet the ASTM C109, C270 and C387 criteria.
• Carmelo Mortar Mix Type N: for the final coating, giving the homes a smoother finish than normal.
• Easy Mix Concrete TP: on the floors and upper part of the ceiling
• LFT 9500 Adhesive
• Polymer Modified Grout Unsanded
• Mono Mix 220V
• M-Tec Mixer D30 and M-Tec Pump P50: for quotes and information regarding these specific products please email info@carmelo.com.
